Vinted 1099 checker: will you get a Form 1099-K?
Short answer: Under federal rules, a payment platform files Form 1099-K for a seller who receives over $20,000 from over 200 transactions in a calendar year: both conditions must be met. The IRS confirmed this threshold in October 2025, after the One, Big, Beautiful Bill restored it. Some states use lower thresholds, and a 1099-K is not a tax bill in itself.
Enter your sales since January 1: the tool checks them against the federal Form 1099-K threshold, shows how far you are from it, and estimates where you will end the year at your current pace.

Examples: federal Form 1099-K threshold
| Transactions in the year | Amount received | Form 1099-K (federal) |
|---|---|---|
| 12 | $450 | No |
| 250 | $19,000 | No |
| 150 | $21,000 | No |
| 201 | $20,001 | Yes |
Rule: over $20,000 AND over 200 transactions in a calendar year, both required (IRS, October 2025). Exactly $20,000 or exactly 200 transactions is not over the threshold.
How the Form 1099-K threshold works
Form 1099-K reports payments a seller receives through a payment platform. In October 2025 the IRS confirmed that the federal threshold is back to over $20,000 AND over 200 transactions in a calendar year, after the One, Big, Beautiful Bill reversed the planned lower thresholds.
Both conditions must be met: 300 small sales worth $3,000 stay under it, and so do 50 sales worth $25,000. Some states set their own, lower reporting thresholds.
A 1099-K is not a tax bill
The form tells the IRS what you received; whether you owe tax depends on what you sold. Selling personal items for less than you paid for them does not usually create taxable income, while profits from buying and reselling are taxable.
Vinted's rules also say that, with Vinted Pro not available in the US, members can't sell as a business or with the goal of making a profit.
What the tool counts
Sales (transactions) in the calendar year and the amount you received for them, meaning the price of the items you sold. The Vinted fee and any sales tax are paid by the buyer.
The forecast assumes you keep the same pace until December 31: it gives an order of magnitude, not a prediction.
Frequently asked questions
Will Vinted send me a 1099?
Vinted's US Help Center has no article on Form 1099-K (checked October 27, 2026). Under federal rules, a payment platform files one when a seller receives over $20,000 from over 200 transactions in a calendar year.
Do I need to meet both conditions?
Yes, for the federal threshold: over $20,000 AND over 200 transactions. Meeting only one is not enough.
Does my state have a lower threshold?
Some states require a 1099-K at lower amounts than the federal rule. Check your state's tax department if you sell a lot.
Does the count reset every year?
Yes. The threshold applies per calendar year, from January 1 to December 31.
If I get a 1099-K, do I owe tax?
Not necessarily. The form reports what you received. Selling personal items for less than you paid usually isn't taxable income, while resale profits are.
