The Vinted resale barometer: what our robot's data shows

Every week we publish aggregates from our robot's database, built from Vinted's public catalogue pages: volumes, price gaps, price drops and the fees buyers pay. Never the value of a model.

Key figures

  • 35,269 listings observed on vinted.fr and 6,098 on vinted.co.uk, from 18 October 2026 to 25 October 2026.
  • 86.8% of asking prices in France are whole numbers, and 61.4% are multiples of €5.
  • For the same kind of item (same brand, same model, same size), the gap between the first and third price quartiles is, at the median, 50% of the median price.
  • 18% of listings are priced at least 30% below the median of comparable listings, and 3.1% at least 50% below.
  • 9% of listings seen again over 24 hours or more cut their price by at least 3%; the median cut is 10%.
  • In the UK and the US, the usual buyer fee (5% plus 0.70 in local currency) is 12% of a 10-unit item and 6.4% of a 50-unit item; in Australia (5% + A$1.00), 15% and 7%.

Listings observed, by item family

Share of each family among the listings the robot saw during the period. It reflects the searches being watched (subscriber alerts, sweeps by family), not the make-up of the whole of Vinted.

Round prices, almost always

On vinted.fr, 86.8% of asking prices are whole numbers and 61.4% are multiples of €5. “Charm” prices ending in 9 cover only 6.1% of listings. For a seller, a round price leaves an obvious room to negotiate; for a buyer, an offer just under a round step is often the most natural one.

Same item, widely spread prices

The robot sorts second-hand listings into comparable groups: same brand, same model (or same kind of item) and same size when known. We keep only groups of at least 8 listings. The interquartile gap is the distance between the first quartile (below which sits the cheapest quarter) and the third quartile (above which sits the dearest quarter), as a share of the group's median price. The last two columns count listings priced far below their group's median: not all of them are good deals (condition, variant, mistake, fake), which is exactly what you need to check.

Sellers cut their prices

Among listings the robot saw again over at least 24 hours, we count those whose price fell by at least 3% since the first sighting (smaller moves are often currency conversions). A listing that lingers often ends up cheaper: that is the time to make an offer, or to favourite it so Vinted tells you about the drop.

Buyer fees, country by country

On Vinted the buyer pays the platform fee, on top of the price and postage; private sellers pay no commission. The fixed part weighs heavily on cheap items. Formulas checked on listings and on the official price lists. Details for your market: Vinted fees.

What we do not publish, and why

  • The value of an item, a model or a brand. It changes every day and only means something when dated and recomputed in the tool.
  • Time to sell. A listing that drops out of our result pages is not necessarily sold: newer listings push it down. Until we can tell the two apart, we publish no selling time.
  • Posting hours and days. The robot pauses at night and runs at irregular intervals: the time it sees a listing is not the time it was posted.
  • United States, Australia: not enough days of data yet; these markets will appear once they meet our thresholds.

How the barometer is built

  • Source: the VTD BOT robot's local database, built from Vinted's public catalogue pages sorted by “newest first”, without a Vinted account. Listings imported from other sites are excluded.
  • Period: 18 October 2026 to 25 October 2026, full days in UTC; a rolling window of 28 days at most. Data as of 26 October 2026, updated every week.
  • Sample: 41,367 unique listings first seen during the period, across 2 market(s) that meet our thresholds (at least 2,000 listings and 5 days of data).
  • Family: the item family of the search that found the listing (sneakers, streetwear, outdoor…); “unclassified” when the search had none.
  • Comparable group: second-hand listings with the same brand, same model (or kind) and same size when known; at least 8 listings.
  • Price cut: current price at least 3% below the price at first sighting, on a listing seen again over 24 hours or more.
  • Limits: asking prices, not selling prices; the sample depends on the searches being watched; a listing stays in its original family. No data for United Kingdom on 23 October 2026.
  • Open data: the published aggregates as a CSV file and a JSON file, same figures as this page.

Often: 61.4% of prices on vinted.fr are multiples of €5, which leaves an obvious room to negotiate, and 9% of listings seen again over 24 hours or more cut their price by at least 3% (median cut 10%).

Because each seller sets their own price, depending on condition, size, urgency or how well they know the market. In our comparable groups, the gap between the first and third price quartiles is, at the median, 50% of the median price.

No. We publish no value for any item, model or brand: it changes every day. The barometer only publishes volumes, shares and percentage gaps.
