Vinted account banned or blocked: reasons, how to appeal and what bots change in the UK
A Vinted ban can be temporary or permanent, and Vinted says it will tell you in writing when it acts and explain how to appeal. Look in your Vinted inbox and your email for the official moderation decision, because it holds the appeal link: you can appeal once, within 6 months. This guide covers the kinds of block, the reasons Vinted lists, your balance and where bots fit.

Blocked, restricted, suspended or banned: what is the difference?
Vinted does not define these words in one place, so this table follows how its pages use them (checked 21 October 2026).
| Word | How Vinted's pages use it |
|---|---|
| Restriction or feature block | The terms list blocking a feature on your account, such as messages, as a corrective action. The commercial selling and chargeback pages say Vinted may restrict an account. |
| Temporary ban | Lifted automatically after 7 to 30 days, depending on the reason, with the end date shown when you log in. Vinted says it cannot lift it earlier unless you show evidence of a mistake. |
| Permanent ban | You can still log in to ask about unbanning and to withdraw earnings, with exceptions. Vinted says an account banned for safety reasons cannot be deleted. |
| Lock or hold | Vinted says it may lock an account automatically if it notices suspicious activity. Its login page mentions a phone check, confirming ownership, or a block. |
| Suspension | Used for a purchase verification not completed within 24 hours, and for your earnings balance in connection with ID checks. |
| IP block | Vinted says a blocked IP address is a different thing from a blocked account. |
Why does Vinted block accounts? The reasons it lists
The terms (version dated 08-10-2026) say Vinted may take corrective actions when your content, items or activity are unlawful, a threat to public security, or break the terms or the Catalogue Rules. Actions range from a warning to blocking a feature or the account. Vinted says it may use automated tools to detect issues. The banned account page lists reasons:
- Temporary ban: offensive behaviour towards members or support, inappropriate pictures, repeatedly selling prohibited items, selling counterfeits, promoting selling outside Vinted's payment system, and selling for commercial purposes.
- Permanent ban: fraud or scamming, multiple accounts, repeatedly selling counterfeits, selling items prohibited by law, repeatedly breaking the Catalogue Rules, repeatedly ignoring Vinted's messages and not taking the required action, and repeatedly selling for commercial purposes.
Other pages add more triggers. If verification information is incomplete or incorrect, or you do not cooperate, the terms say Vinted may block your account. The purchase verification page says to answer within 24 hours or Vinted may suspend the account. The chargeback page says opening a dispute with your payment provider before contacting Vinted may lead to a restriction. The terms also bar mass messages to 5 or more users, repeatedly deleting and re-listing the same item, and external software tools such as bots (see below).
In the UK, selling to make a profit with a standard account is a reason Vinted lists. It asks members who sell professionally to register as Pro sellers, and says that if an account is banned for repeated commercial selling it may require you to convert to Pro within 6 months of the ban notice.
What should you do if you think the ban is a mistake?
- Find the decision. Check your Vinted inbox and email for the official moderation decision. If you only got a message that your account is under review, Vinted says it should be resolved shortly.
- Appeal using the link in that message. Explain why you think the decision was wrong and add supporting evidence. You can appeal once, within 6 months of the decision.
- If you cannot log in because the account is locked, use the Help Centre page on confirming ownership. Vinted asks for a photo of your payment card next to a handwritten note with your username and the date, or a bank statement, sent through Contact us.
- Do not open a second account. The terms allow one account, and the banned account page lists multiple accounts as a reason for a permanent ban. The terms also say Vinted may prevent you from creating a new account.
The terms say Vinted will not provide the statement of reasons if that would break the law, disrupt a fraud investigation or enable fraud to continue. If you were told nothing, check your spam folder and use Contact us.
What happens to your balance, orders and listings?
The terms say that while an account is blocked you cannot use the site except to contact support, your items are delisted and extra services you bought are not refunded. You can complete pending transactions and payouts, with exceptions. If the block follows security or fraud concerns raised by the wallet provider, a compromised account, or the need to protect others in a transaction, pending transactions may be cancelled with buyer fees refunded, payouts may be restricted and compensation claims may be rejected.
The banned account page adds that after a permanent ban you can still withdraw earnings from your balance, but withdrawals may not be possible if they pose a risk to other members, involve a compromised account, or the ban is due to a risk of fraud as determined by the payment provider.
Separately, the ID check page says the payment service provider can suspend access to your balance until a check is completed, and that suspicious or fake documents can lead to withdrawals being permanently blocked or an account ban.
How do appeals and out-of-court routes work?
Vinted's appeal page says you can appeal only once, within 6 months, best through the link in the notice. A member you reported can also appeal. The banned account page adds that you can submit a dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or bring an action before national courts under local law.
The UK terms say that if a disagreement raised through Vinted's dispute form is not resolved, you can contact the national consumer bodies for alternative dispute resolution, or go to the courts where you live. Vinted's contacts page names the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution as an external channel.
Bots and your Vinted account
The user terms say you must not "use any kind of external software tools (including but not limited to: bots, scraping programs, crawling programs, spiders)" when registering on the site or using it, unless Vinted authorises, offers or otherwise allows that use. They also bar data mining, screen scraping and crawling, and ask you to keep your login details and password confidential. The wording is the same on vinted.co.uk, vinted.com and vinted.com.au.
A tool that logs in to your account (auto-buy, auto-offers, auto-messages) acts in your name. In our reading, the activity then happens on your account, the corrective-action clause covers activity on your account, and you are the account holder who accepted the terms, so the risk lands on you. Those tools also need your login details. An alert tool that never logs in does nothing inside your account: it cannot send an offer or a message from it. We do not claim the clause permits such a tool, because it names no products and we found no Vinted list of allowed tools. Treat a promise of "no ban risk" as a warning sign.
The full reading is in Is a Vinted bot allowed?, and what a Vinted sniper can and cannot do covers the auto-buy kind.
Where VTD BOT fits, and where it does not
VTD BOT never logs in to your Vinted account, never buys and never sends offers or messages, so it takes no action on your account. It cannot unblock an account, file an appeal or speak to Vinted for you, and we make no promise about suspension risk. You save searches (keywords, brand, size, condition, price ceiling, excluded words) and it alerts you to matching listings, with an estimated value from comparable listings and the real cost after the Vinted fee and postage. It checks Vinted at regular intervals, not continuously. There is no free plan: Starter is £8 a month, Plus £25 and Pro £33. See the pricing, the features and how alerts work.
