Is a Vinted bot allowed in the UK? What Vinted's terms say
Short answer: Vinted's current terms restrict external software tools, bots included, unless Vinted allows the use. This guide sets out the wording as published on vinted.co.uk, what it covers, what it leaves open and what no bot seller can promise. It is information, not legal advice.

The short answer
The user terms on vinted.co.uk carry the line "New version applicable from 08-10-2026" (checked 20 October 2026, and the same date appeared on vinted.co.uk, vinted.com and vinted.com.au). In the part that lists what users must not do, they say you must not use "external software tools (including but not limited to: bots, scraping programs, crawling programs, spiders)" when registering on the site or using it, unless Vinted authorises, offers or otherwise allows that use.
In plain terms, a bot is not allowed by default and is allowed only where Vinted says so. We have not found a Vinted page that authorises third-party alert tools, and we do not claim that one exists.
Scraping and the other related lines
- Scraping. The same list says users must not "data mine, screen scrape, crawl" any part of the site, or disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer it.
- Disruption. It also bars any external software tool that could disrupt the normal operation of the site or harm another user's computer.
- Messages. Private messages are for exchanging information about an item. The terms ban advertisements and unsolicited or mass messages sent to 5 or more members, so automated messaging is a separate problem.
- Login details. The terms ask you to keep your login details and password confidential. A tool that asks for them asks you to share what Vinted asks you to keep private.
What the terms list as consequences
The terms say Vinted may take corrective actions when activity on the site is unlawful or breaks the terms. They can include sending a warning, removing an item, hiding or removing content, blocking a feature on your account (messages, for example) and blocking the account temporarily or permanently. Vinted says it may use automated tools to detect these issues, that its action will be proportionate to the violation, and that it will tell you in writing and explain how to appeal.
Nothing in the wording says which tools receive which response. We therefore cannot tell you that any bot is safe from action, ours included.
What the wording does not settle
- It names no products and does not separate an alert tool from an auto-buyer.
- The clause is written about what you do when registering on the site or using it. Whether a tool that never touches your account falls under it is a question only Vinted can answer, and we do not claim an answer.
- It does not say how Vinted treats a script that you run yourself, or a free server that posts listings. Nothing in the wording exempts them either.
How different tools line up against the wording
| Kind of tool | Needs your Vinted login? | What it does | Where the wording bites |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vinted's own saved searches, follows and favourites | It is your account | Normal use of the app | No external tool is involved |
| An alert tool that reads public listings (VTD BOT) | No | Alerts you. You act yourself | Whether such a tool is covered is for Vinted to say, and you remain responsible |
| A bot that logs in as you (auto-buy, auto-message, auto-favourite) | Yes | Acts as you | Squarely within the external-tools, login and mass-message lines |
| A scraping script you run yourself | Not always | Reads pages automatically | The scraping and crawling lines |
This table is our reading of the wording. It is not Vinted's position and it is not legal advice.
What VTD BOT does and does not do
VTD BOT is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Vinted. It never logs in to your Vinted account, never messages sellers for you and never buys on your behalf. The radar checks vinted.co.uk for listings at regular intervals and alerts you, and you make the decisions and complete the purchase yourself. See the features.
That design limits what a bot can do to your account. It does not change what the terms say, and we cannot promise that Vinted will never act. Whether to use a third-party tool is your decision, and if you want to stay entirely inside Vinted's own features, see the notification fixes and the alerts Vinted offers.
Rules that are specific to the UK
The UK terms say users use the services for their personal benefit only, unless they are buying as a Pro Seller. Vinted Pro is free and available in the UK, and Vinted asks members who sell to make a profit to register as Pro sellers.
If you decide not to use a bot
Vinted's own free features cover part of the job: follow the members and brands you like, favourite items to hear about price drops, and keep saved searches whose counters you check yourself. They will not alert you to a new matching listing, but they carry no external-software question. If you do use a tool, keep it to tools that never ask for your login, and judge it by its prices on the pricing page and its limits on the features page rather than by promises.
Questions to ask before you use any bot
- Does it ask for my Vinted password, a code or a session? If so, do not use it.
- What does it do inside my account, if anything?
- Does it promise that it is undetectable or carries no risk of a ban? Nobody can promise that, so treat it as a warning sign.
- Who runs it, and what do they do with my searches and my data?
- Can I stop paying in one click?
Frequently asked questions
Are Vinted bots legal?
Legal and allowed by Vinted are two different questions. This guide is about Vinted's terms, which restrict external software tools such as bots unless Vinted allows them. Whether something is lawful is a question for a lawyer, and we do not give legal advice.
Can you get banned for using a Vinted bot?
Vinted's terms list corrective actions from a warning to blocking a feature or the account, and say Vinted may use automated tools to detect issues. We cannot promise that any tool carries no risk. VTD BOT never connects to your account, but you remain responsible for following Vinted's rules.
Which version of Vinted's terms does this cover?
The version Vinted dates 08-10-2026, as shown on vinted.co.uk, vinted.com and vinted.com.au when we checked on 20 October 2026. Vinted can change its terms, so open the page before you decide.
Does VTD BOT log in to my Vinted account?
No. VTD BOT never connects to your Vinted account, never messages sellers for you and never buys on your behalf.
Does Vinted allow third-party alert tools?
We have not found any Vinted page that authorises them, and we do not claim that one exists. The terms say external software tools are not allowed unless Vinted allows the use.
