Vinted search: filters, saved searches and tips to find good buys on vinted.co.uk
To search Vinted well, type two or three precise words, narrow with the filters (category, size, brand, condition, colour, price, material), switch the sort to Newest first and save the search. Vinted's Help Centre describes saved searches as a counter of new listings and not as an alert, so the rest is a routine you run yourself.

What does Vinted search offer on vinted.co.uk?
We read Vinted's Help Centre and opened the catalogue page of vinted.co.uk in a browser, without logging in, on 21 October 2026. The table lists only what we could confirm.
| Feature | What we found | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword search | The search bar covers every Vinted listing, with filters and keywords. Vinted's example is four words: a colour, a fit, a brand and an item. | Help Centre |
| Filters | Category, Size, Brand, Condition, Colour, Price and Material. Condition levels: New with tags, New without tags, Very good, Good, Satisfactory. | Catalogue page |
| Sort | Relevance, Price: high to low, Price: low to high and Newest first. | Catalogue page |
| Member search | A switch between the catalogue and Members in the search bar. | Catalogue page |
| Saved searches | A Save icon, then a counter of new listings. Unlimited, removed after 6 months if never opened. | Help Centre |
| Personalised feed | Categories, sizes and brands you choose. Not every category feed can be personalised. | Help Centre |
The catalogue observations come from a desktop browser without an account. The app, or a logged-in view, may show more.
Can you search Vinted by image, by location or by zip code?
- Image or photo search. The Help Centre pages we read do not mention it, and the search bar on the web showed no image-search control. We could not test the mobile app, so if yours shows a camera option, it is outside what we checked.
- Location, country or zip code. We found no location, distance, country or zip code filter, on the site or in the Help Centre pages we read. Delivery is what limits you. Vinted's shipping page says you may be unable to pick a delivery option because of the seller's postage settings, limits on larger parcels or some delivery addresses. Vinted's buying guide says that if Buy now is missing, you can ask the seller whether all available carriers are enabled.
- Filters not working. The pages we read describe no filter fault, so we cannot diagnose one. Remove filters one at a time to find the one hiding what you expect, check that you are not on Members, and update the app. For missing alerts, see Vinted notifications not working.
How do saved searches work, and where do you find them?
Vinted's Help Centre says: open the search bar, where recent searches are listed, and press the Save icon next to the term. Next time you open the search bar, a number with a plus shows how many items were listed since you last checked, and the counter resets each time you view the search. Unmark the icon to remove it. Saved searches are unlimited and disappear after 6 months if you never open them.
So your saved searches are the ones in the search bar that show a counter. The page describes a counter and no push or email alert for it. Vinted does notify you when a member you follow lists new items, and when the price of an item you favourited is reduced. The counter only helps when you open the app. See Vinted alerts.
How do you write searches that find good buys?
Vinted's Help Centre does not describe how its search matches words. Test each tip on your own searches.
- Use the words a seller would use. A brand, an item type and one detail is enough to start. Long phrases can leave out listings that describe the same item differently.
- Search the variants and the typos. Sellers write the same thing in several ways, and a title with a misspelt brand may not come up when you type it correctly. Run the common spellings as separate searches, and keep a result only if the photos and the label hold up.
- Use model numbers and references. A style code or model number is a more exact key than a name, and it is often printed on the care label or tag. See how to find underpriced items on Vinted. If a code returns nothing, search the model name.
- Sort by Newest first. The Help Centre says the feed constantly shows newly uploaded items, and the sort menu offers Newest first. Recent listings sit at the top, where fewer buyers have looked.
- Combine size, condition and price. Add words first, then filters. Pick the conditions you would accept, and set the price maximum from your total budget after taking away the Vinted fee and postage. Do not stack every filter: one you do not need can hide a good listing.
- Use member search. Look up a seller you trust, then follow them: Vinted notifies you when members you follow list new items.
| What sellers vary | Examples to try as separate searches |
|---|---|
| Spacing and punctuation | t shirt, t-shirt, tshirt; a name with and without its apostrophe; a model name with and without a space before its number |
| Everyday words | jumper, sweater, pullover, knit; joggers, sweatpants, tracksuit bottoms; puffer, padded jacket, down jacket |
| Misspelt brands | the brand with a doubled or missing letter, or run together with the next word |
These are examples of how people write, not a statement about how Vinted's search matches words.
A checking routine for Vinted searches
- Run your saved searches with Newest first. Three to five is enough to start.
- Open only the listings that fit. Read every photo, the condition, the size and the description, and ask for a close-up of the label or the flaw if needed.
- Work out the total. Add the Vinted fee (usually 5% + £0.70 on most items and 8% + £0.30 on children's items) and the postage to the price, and compare totals, not listing prices.
- Compare with live listings. Vinted shows no sold prices, so look at several comparable listings in the same size and condition: see how to check what an item is worth.
- Buy with Buy now. Vinted's refund policy applies to purchases made that way, and not to payments outside Vinted's system.
- Prune once a week. Delete searches that never lead to a purchase and tighten those that flood you.
Why automate your Vinted searches, and what does VTD BOT do?
The weak point of a manual routine is timing. A saved search tells you something was listed only when you open the app, and a good listing can be bought or reserved between two checks. Alert tools fill that gap.
VTD BOT works from searches you save with keywords, brand, size, condition, a price ceiling and excluded words. It checks vinted.co.uk at regular intervals and alerts you by push notification, sound or email when a new listing matches, with an estimated value from comparable listings and the real cost with the Vinted fee and postage. Excluded words are a VTD BOT setting; we did not verify an exclusion operator on Vinted itself.
It never logs in to your Vinted account, never buys and never messages sellers. It does not check continuously, so an alert can arrive some time after a listing goes up, and there is no free plan. Starter is £8 a month with 1 search, Plus £25 with 10 and Pro £33 with unlimited searches, billed monthly with no commitment (see the pricing and the features). Vinted's terms restrict external tools such as bots unless Vinted allows them, and you stay responsible for following its rules: see Is a Vinted bot allowed?.
What is different for searching in the UK
- Carriers. Vinted lists Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan and DHL Express as integrated providers in the UK. Which ones you can pick depends on the seller's postage settings and on limits for larger parcels or some postcodes.
- Listings from abroad. Vinted says the UK is connected with the US and Australia. Only items of 2kg or less can be traded. US items or bundles above 120 GBP and Australian ones above 110 GBP (before the fee, shipping and import VAT) are not available to UK buyers, and US transactions are limited to some US states.
- The fee. The fee page says usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, depending on the item, the order value and whether it is a single item or a bundle.
