Vinted notifications not working: fixes, and how to get alerts for new listings
Before you fix anything, know what Vinted promises to notify you about. It alerts you to some events and not to others, and that gap explains many reports of notifications not working. This guide lists the fixes from Vinted's Help Centre, then the options for alerts on new listings in the UK.

What Vinted notifies you about
When we checked on 20 October 2026, Vinted's Help Centre page on managing notifications listed these events:
- Members you follow list new items.
- The price of an item you have favourited is reduced, or the item is sold.
- An item you listed is favourited, someone starts following you, or you receive feedback.
- You receive new messages, or news from Vinted.
Notice what is missing: a new listing that matches a search you saved. The Help Centre page on saved searches describes a counter in the search bar that shows how many items were listed since you last looked. It does not describe a push or email alert for a saved search. If you expected a ping and found a number, the app is doing what Vinted describes.
The same notifications page says in-app notifications cannot be turned off, and that you can only manage the push notifications that appear outside the app. Recent notifications stay in your inbox for up to 7 days, even if push notifications are disabled.
Fixes from Vinted's Help Centre
- Check the push settings. Go to your profile, choose Settings, then Push notifications. The first option on the list disables all push notifications, so make sure it has not been switched on by accident.
- Check the daily limit. On the same screen, under Other notifications, you can set a daily limit on non-high priority notifications. A low limit can make alerts look as if they have stopped.
- Check email notifications. Go to Profile, Settings, then Email notifications. Turn them on if they are off, and review the daily limit there too.
- Look in your inbox. Recent notifications are kept there for up to 7 days.
- Fix the app itself. Vinted's page for an app that is not loading lists the steps it says fix most technical issues: restart your device, update the phone's operating system, update the Vinted app, reinstall it (Vinted says you won't lose information) and, as a last resort, reset your device settings. The steps we read are written for iPhone, and the page says the app needs iOS 16 or later. It is about an app that will not load, not about notifications, but these are the steps Vinted suggests first.
- Contact Vinted. Vinted's contact page asks you to check the relevant Help Centre page first and then use the contact button. The page for an app that will not load says Vinted can help faster if you add a screenshot, your device model, your operating system version, your app version (Profile, Settings, bottom of the page) and, if an error appeared, its date and time.
Your phone also has its own notification permissions for each app. Those are set in the phone's settings and Vinted's pages that we read do not cover them, so follow your phone maker's instructions if Vinted's settings look right.
Getting alerts for new listings
Vinted's own features give you three ways to keep up with the catalogue:
- Follow members whose listings you like. Vinted notifies you when they list new items.
- Favourite items to be told when their price drops.
- Save a search and check its counter, or personalise your feed with categories, sizes and brands so that recommendations match.
All of these are Vinted's own features, and none of them sends an alert when a new listing matches a search. That is the gap that alert tools fill.
Where an alert tool helps
A tool such as VTD BOT works from your criteria rather than from the members you follow. You save a search (brand, model, size, condition, price, keywords) and the radar checks vinted.co.uk at regular intervals, then alerts you by push notification, sound or email when a listing matches. It adds an estimated market value and the real cost with the Vinted fee and postage. VTD BOT installs on a phone from the browser, on iPhone and Android, with no app store, and once you turn on notifications you get your alerts even when it is closed.
There are two limits. The radar checks at intervals and not continuously, so an alert can arrive some time after a listing is published, and a popular item can be gone. And an alert is only as good as your criteria, so narrow searches beat broad ones. Starter includes 1 search with alerts, Plus 10 and Pro unlimited: see the pricing and the features.
VTD BOT never logs in to your Vinted account. It also cannot repair a notification problem inside your Vinted app, because those settings belong to Vinted.
A quick triage
- You get no alert for a search you saved. That is how saved searches work, not a fault. Check the counter, or use an alert tool.
- You get no alert for anything. Start with the push settings, the daily limit and your phone's own permissions, then update the app.
- You get alerts late, or fewer than before. Check the daily limit for non-high priority notifications, and whether the members you follow have listed anything new.
- The app will not open or load. Use the technical steps from Vinted's page, then contact Vinted with the details it asks for.
Only Vinted can fix a fault on its own side. When the steps above do not help, the contact page is the right place to go.
Keeping alerts worth reading
- Start with three narrow searches, not thirty broad ones.
- Set your price ceiling with the fee in mind: in the UK the fee is usually 5% + £0.70 on most items and 8% + £0.30 on children's items.
- Delete searches that never lead to a purchase and tighten the ones that flood you.
For the full set-up routine, see Vinted bot: how to get alerts for new listings. If you would rather stay entirely inside Vinted's features, the first three fixes above are the ones to try.
Frequently asked questions
Why are my Vinted notifications not working?
Check Profile, Settings, Push notifications (the first option disables all of them) and the daily limit for non-high priority notifications, then email notifications and your inbox. If the app itself misbehaves, restart, update the app and the phone, reinstall, then contact Vinted. Source: Vinted's Help Centre, checked 20 October 2026.
Why doesn't Vinted alert me about new listings from a saved search?
When we checked on 20 October 2026, Vinted's Help Centre described a saved search as a counter in the search bar showing new items since you last looked, not as a push or email alert.
How do I see my saved searches on Vinted?
Tap the search bar: Vinted lists your recent searches there, and saved ones carry the Save icon. A number with a plus next to a saved search shows how many new items were listed since you last opened it, and opening it resets the counter. Source: Vinted's Help Centre, checked 28 October 2026.
Can I get an alert when a new listing matches my search?
Not from Vinted's saved searches as described in its Help Centre. Vinted does notify you when a followed member lists something and when a favourited item drops in price. An alert tool such as VTD BOT notifies you when a listing matches criteria you set.
How long does Vinted keep my notifications?
Vinted's Help Centre says notifications are usually stored in your inbox for up to 7 days, after which they disappear automatically.
Does VTD BOT need my Vinted login?
No. VTD BOT never connects to your Vinted account, never messages sellers for you and never buys on your behalf.
