Vinted lost parcel: when it counts as lost, how to report it and who refunds you

A Vinted parcel counts as lost when its tracking changes to "Parcel seems to be lost" or more than 25 business days have passed since it was shipped. Press I have an issue in the conversation screen then, and Vinted investigates with the carrier and refunds you in full if the loss is confirmed. If tracking says delivered but nothing arrived, report it within 2 days.

When does Vinted treat a parcel as late, and when as lost?

Late is not lost. Vinted says a parcel can take up to 25 business days to arrive, and that most do arrive within that time even when there are delays. It cannot start the investigation or the refund process until the tracking status changes to "Parcel seems to be lost" or more than 25 business days have passed since the order was shipped.

Before the parcel is even posted, the seller has 5 business days to ship. If they miss it, Vinted cancels the order and refunds you. A seller who needs longer can ask you to extend the deadline by 3 or 5 business days, and you can accept or decline.

For typical transit, Vinted's delivery time page gives 1 to 3 business days for First-Class Package Service and Priority Mail Service shipping, excluding weekends and major holidays.

In the US, Vinted's pages word the lost status as "Package seems to be lost".

Tracking only exists for orders bought with Buy now and sent as the in-app instructions say. The seller must use the prepaid Vinted-generated label: Vinted cannot track a parcel sent with another carrier, and it cancels the order and refunds the buyer in that case.

How do you track a Vinted parcel?

  1. Open the conversation about the order and press the tracking button (Track parcel in the UK and Australia, Track package in the US).
  2. Use the link to the carrier's own tracking page, or copy the tracking number.
  3. Allow up to 48 hours after posting for the first tracking information to appear on Vinted.
  4. If the parcel has arrived but the status is not "delivered", press Mark as received.

Vinted's terms add that tracking comes from the carrier, and that Vinted disclaims liability if the carrier supplies inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information. So treat the status as a guide, and report through Vinted when the deadlines apply.

How do you report a lost parcel on Vinted?

  1. Wait for the trigger: Vinted's notification that the order seems lost, the "Parcel seems to be lost" status, or more than 25 business days since shipping.
  2. Press I have an issue in the conversation screen, choose the problem and add details confirming that you have not received the order.
  3. Submit the request. The order is suspended and your payment is held safely.
  4. Let Vinted investigate. It may need to investigate with the shipping company, which Vinted says can take several weeks. If the loss is confirmed, you are refunded.

This is the "order lost in transit" case of the refund policy. The same page treats "delivered but not received" separately, which is the next section.

Tracking says delivered, but you have nothing

Press I have an issue within 2 days of the order being marked delivered, or of Vinted's notice that it should have been delivered, and choose the issue. Vinted may investigate further with the shipping company, which can take several weeks, and your payment stays safe while the order is suspended.

Check the carrier's tracking details and your delivery address, but do not use up the 2 days doing it. Vinted's page on parcels that go to the wrong address says they are often returned to the carrier by the recipient. Once Vinted confirms the parcel is on its way back to the seller, it cancels the order and begins the refund within 14 business days, and it asks you to contact it if no refund arrives within 25 business days.

Lockers and pick-up points

When a parcel reaches your chosen pick-up point, the carrier sends a pick-up code to the phone and email linked to your Vinted account. Storage time differs by carrier, and the deadline is usually in the carrier's message. If you do not collect in time, the parcel goes back to the seller, the order is canceled automatically and you are refunded. Once you collect it, the status becomes "delivered" and a 2-day order confirmation period begins. Use Mark as received if the status does not update.

Vinted's US shipping page names USPS, FedEx and SpeedX as integrated providers. The USPS and FedEx pages describe delivery to your address. SpeedX, offered through Vinted Go, offers home delivery, where you need ID ready, or pick-up at a Vinted Go Shop with a QR code or barcode.

Who refunds you, and when?

Vinted does, not the seller. Its payment service provider holds your payment until the order is completed, so a confirmed loss means the order is canceled and you are refunded from that held payment. The refund is a full one: the Vinted fee, the item price and the shipping you paid.

Sales tax is included, and customs tax where it applies.

The money goes back to the account you paid from: within a few hours for your Vinted balance, and up to 5 business days for a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, counted from the cancellation. The table is in the refund guide. The delay that matters is the investigation, not the transfer. What the fee covers is in Vinted fees and Buyer Protection explained.

What not to do

If you are the seller

Ship within 5 business days, with the prepaid Vinted label for that order: another label or carrier means automatic cancellation. Pack properly and keep your proof of shipping (label copy, drop-off receipt) until the order is completed. Vinted compensates sellers for a parcel confirmed lost, as long as it was packed properly, was sent with the Vinted label and the carrier confirms the loss. Investigations can take several weeks. If you are paid compensation for a lost parcel, you transfer ownership of the parcel and its contents to Vinted Go UAB. Sent without the Vinted label, you must claim from the carrier yourself.

Vinted's US page lists a compensation limit per carrier, from $15 to $100 per package for domestic parcels.

Where VTD BOT fits

VTD BOT does not track parcels or file claims. It alerts you when a new listing matches your saved searches (keywords, brand, size, condition, price ceiling, excluded words) and shows an estimated value from comparable listings and the real cost with the Vinted fee and shipping. It never logs in to your Vinted account, never buys and never messages sellers, and its radar checks Vinted at regular intervals, not continuously.

Plans are billed monthly with no commitment: Starter is $9, Plus is $29 and Pro is $39, and there is no free plan. See the pricing and the features, or read how to buy on Vinted and resell elsewhere.
