Vinted monitor: what it is, Discord feeds, free options and building your own
In reselling circles a monitor is a program that watches a site and posts new listings the moment it sees them. For Vinted, that usually means a Discord channel, a Telegram bot or a script you run. This guide explains how monitors work, what the free ones cost you in other ways, what building one involves, and the questions to ask before you rely on any of them.

What a Vinted monitor is
A Vinted monitor is software that checks vinted.com.au for new listings that match a search, then pushes each match somewhere you will see it: a Discord channel, a Telegram chat, a browser notification or a phone alert. The word comes from sneaker reselling, where monitors watch shops for restocks. On Vinted, the idea is the same: you stop refreshing the app and let the monitor tell you.
A monitor only finds listings. It does not buy. Tools that also buy for you are usually sold as auto-buy or autocop, and they work from a Vinted account you connect to them, which is a different level of risk (see Vinted sniper bot).
The three ways to get one
- Join a Discord or Telegram monitor. Someone runs the monitor and posts matches into channels, often one channel per brand or category. You join and read. Several paid tools also run a free feed or a free plan.
- Pay for a monitor tool. You set your own searches and get private alerts. Prices and free plans differ a lot from one provider to another: our comparison pages list what each one publishes, with dates.
- Build your own. A script that polls Vinted search results, keeps track of what it has already seen and sends new items to a Discord webhook or a Telegram bot. Open-source projects exist on GitHub.
Shared monitors: the catch
On a shared Discord monitor, every member of the channel sees the same listing at the same moment. For a sought-after item, you are one of many people opening the same link. A shared feed is good for learning a niche, seeing what sells and how prices move. It gives you no head start on anyone else in the channel.
Shared monitors are also only as filtered as their operator makes them. A channel for a whole brand posts every size and condition, which is noise if you only buy one size. Private searches with your own size, price and condition filters are what make alerts usable.
Building your own monitor: what it involves
Building a monitor is a real software project, not a weekend setting. You need to write and maintain code that requests search results, parses them, removes duplicates and sends notifications. It has to run somewhere around the clock, which usually means paying for a server. When Vinted changes its pages, the script breaks until you fix it.
There is also the question of the rules. Vinted's terms list, among the things users must not do, the use of external software tools, including bots, scraping programs and crawling programs, unless Vinted authorises or allows that use. Nothing in that wording exempts a script you run yourself. Only Vinted can say how it applies in a given case, and the details are in Is a Vinted bot allowed?
If you still go ahead, keep two habits: never put your Vinted password or a session cookie into a script you did not write, and never run code you have not read.
What Vinted gives you for free
Before you install anything, use what Vinted already offers. It notifies you when a member you follow lists a new item, and when an item you favourited drops in price or sells. A saved search shows a counter of new items in the search bar the next time you open it, but it does not send a push or email alert. The notification guide explains each setting.
Questions to ask before you trust a monitor
- Who runs it, and can you reach them? A named provider with a contact beats an anonymous invite link.
- What does it ask of you? A monitor needs your search criteria. It does not need your Vinted password, a login code or a cookie.
- Are the alerts filtered by size, price and condition? If not, expect noise.
- Does it show the real cost? The listing price leaves out the Vinted fee and postage. In Australia the fee is usually 5% + A$1.20 according to the price list, and 5% + A$1.00 on the listings we checked (see Vinted fees).
- How often does it check? Be sceptical of promised speeds. No tool outside Vinted can guarantee one.
- What happens when it breaks? Ask how fixes are handled and how long they usually take.
Where VTD BOT fits
VTD BOT is a private monitor with analysis attached. You save searches with your criteria (brand, model, size, condition, colour, price and words to exclude) and get alerts in your browser, on your phone or by email. Each alert shows an estimated market value from comparable listings and the real cost with the Vinted fee and postage, so you can decide from the alert itself.
- Your searches are yours: no shared channel.
- It never logs in to your Vinted account, never buys and never messages sellers for you.
- It checks vinted.com.au at regular intervals, not continuously, so an alert can arrive some time after a listing goes live.
- It has no free plan: Starter costs A$15 a month, Plus A$45 and Pro A$59, billed in Australian dollars (AUD) with no commitment. See the pricing and the features.

A note for Australia
Vinted Pro is not available in Australia, and Vinted's rules say members can't buy items to resell them at a profit. A monitor is for finding what you want to buy at a fair price. We do not recommend reselling on Vinted for profit in Australia.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Vinted monitor?
A program that watches Vinted for new listings matching a search and sends each match to Discord, Telegram, a browser or a phone. It finds listings; it does not buy them.
Is there a free Vinted monitor?
Yes. Some Discord servers and Telegram bots post new listings for free, and several paid tools publish a free plan or free feed, usually limited to one search or alert. Vinted also notifies you for free about followed members and price drops on favourites.
How do I make my own Vinted monitor?
It means writing and hosting a script that polls search results, removes duplicates and sends notifications, then fixing it whenever Vinted changes. Vinted's terms restrict external software tools such as bots and scraping programs unless Vinted allows them, so read them first.
Is a Discord Vinted monitor safe?
We cannot vouch for any server. Never share your Vinted password, a login code or a session cookie, and never pay outside Vinted. A monitor needs your search criteria, nothing more.
Does VTD BOT work as a Vinted monitor?
Yes, as a private one: alerts for your own saved searches, with an estimated value and the real cost. It never connects to your Vinted account and has no free plan.
