Vinted bot on Discord, Telegram or GitHub: free options vs a dedicated tool
Many people who search for a Vinted bot just want a free alert. Discord servers, Telegram bots and GitHub projects are the usual answers, and each has real trade-offs. This guide compares them with a dedicated tool in plain terms and lists what you should never hand to any of them.

The three free routes
- Discord servers. Someone runs a bot that posts new listings into channels. You join and read, and sometimes filter by channel.
- Telegram bots. A bot sends you listings that match a keyword, a link or a setting that you give it.
- GitHub projects. Open-source scripts that you download, configure and run yourself, on your computer or on a server.
All three can cost nothing to start. Free hides costs of other kinds, though: your time, upkeep and trust.
Free or paid: the trade-offs
| Point | Discord or Telegram feed | GitHub script you run | Dedicated paid tool |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Often free, sometimes a paid tier | Free to download. You pay in time, and for a server if it must run all day | A subscription (see the pricing) |
| Setup | Join a server or message a bot | Install, configure and keep it running | Create an account and save searches in the browser |
| Upkeep | Depends on whoever runs it | You fix it when it breaks | The provider maintains it |
| Filters | Whatever the operator offers | Whatever you configure or code | Criteria you set, and often a value and cost analysis |
| Who sees your searches | The operator may | Only you, if you run it yourself | The provider holds them |
| If it stops working | Ask in the channel, if anyone answers | Read the project's issues page | Contact the provider's support |
General patterns, not claims about any named product. Check each one yourself before you rely on it.
Safety: what never to share
- Your Vinted password, or a login code. Vinted's terms ask you to keep your login details and password confidential.
- Session cookies or tokens. They work like a password.
- Payment made outside Vinted. Vinted's refund policy covers purchases made with the Buy now button, and Vinted says it cannot support payments made outside its system.
- Money for a bot that promises to be undetectable. Nobody can promise that, and it is a red flag.
- Code from a stranger. A script runs with your computer's permissions. Read it, or do not run it.
A free server that asks you to log in with your Vinted account to unlock alerts is asking for the one thing an alert never needs.
What Vinted's terms add
The same terms apply whatever you use, free or paid. Vinted's user terms (the version dated 08-10-2026) say users must not use external software tools, including bots, scraping programs and crawling programs, unless Vinted authorises or allows the use. Nothing in that wording exempts a free tool or a script you run yourself, but only Vinted can say how it applies in a given case. The details are in Is a Vinted bot allowed?
How to judge a feed or a script
- Who runs it, and can you reach them? A name and a way to ask questions beat an anonymous invite link.
- What does it ask of you? An alert needs your criteria. It does not need your password.
- What happens when Vinted changes? Free tools often break and are fixed late, or never. Ask how long a fix usually takes.
- Are the alerts filtered? A feed of everything is noise. Filters by size, price and condition are what make alerts usable.
- Does it show the real cost? A listing price without the Vinted fee and postage overstates every bargain.
When free is enough
Start with Vinted's own free features: follow members, favourite items and watch the counter on a saved search. They need no extra software, and the notification guide explains what they do and do not alert you to. A free feed can be enough if you only want a few alerts, you accept some noise and you are comfortable with the risks above.
When a dedicated tool is worth it
- You keep several searches running and want alerts for them.
- You want the real cost with the Vinted fee and postage, and an estimated market value, next to each alert.
- You want offer and follow-up templates, and a record of each seller you contacted.
- You do not want to maintain software.
VTD BOT is built for that case. It is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in pounds sterling (GBP) with no commitment, and you cancel in one click: see the pricing. It never logs in to your Vinted account, never messages sellers for you and never buys for you, and it is independent of Vinted. Alerts, searches and the value analysis are described on the features page. The radar checks vinted.co.uk at regular intervals rather than continuously.
Weighing it against other paid tools? Our comparison pages set VTD BOT beside fourteen alternatives, including Resell Vault and Souk, using facts read on their own sites and dated on each page.
A reminder about the UK
A free bot does not change Vinted's rules for the UK: if you sell to make a profit, Vinted asks you to register as a Pro seller. See Vinted fees in the UK.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Vinted bot?
Free options exist: Discord servers, Telegram bots and GitHub projects, and Vinted's own free features (followed members, favourites and saved-search counters). They differ in reliability, upkeep and risk, and Vinted's terms restrict external software tools unless Vinted allows them.
Is a Vinted Discord bot safe?
We cannot vouch for any server. Never share your Vinted password, a login code or a session cookie, and never pay outside Vinted. A server that asks you to log in with your account to unlock alerts is asking for more than an alert needs.
Is a Vinted Telegram bot allowed?
Vinted's terms say users must not use external software tools, including bots, unless Vinted authorises or allows the use. They name no products, so we cannot say how Vinted treats a given bot. You remain responsible for following Vinted's rules.
Can I run a Vinted bot from GitHub?
It is your decision and your responsibility. A script you run is software that acts on your behalf, so the terms' wording on bots, scraping and crawling is relevant, and the code runs with your computer's permissions.
How do I spot a bot seller I should avoid?
Walk away from anyone who asks for your Vinted login or a login code, promises that a bot is undetectable or risk-free, asks you to pay outside a payment system with protection, or offers no way to contact them. A genuine tool can say what it does and does not do in your account.
What does VTD BOT cost?
VTD BOT is a subscription billed in pounds sterling (GBP), monthly or yearly, with no minimum term. The current prices are on the pricing page.
