Vinted message templates for offers and negotiation (buyer side)
Good messages are short, specific and polite. Below are templates you can copy for questions, offers, bundle requests and follow-ups, after a quick look at how offers work on vinted.com.au and where Vinted's rules draw the line on spam.

How offers work on Vinted
This is what Vinted's Help Centre said when we checked on 20 October 2026:
- You press Make an offer on the listing, or press Ask seller to open a conversation and make the offer there.
- You can offer up to 40% less than the original price. The seller accepts, rejects or makes a counteroffer.
- Offers aren't binding. Even after a seller accepts, the item stays available to other members until you press Buy now.
- Buyers can send up to 25 offers a day. Offers apply to the item price only, so you can't negotiate postage or fees.
- For several items from one seller, you create a bundle and can make an offer on the bundle price. Standard sellers may offer a discount based on the number of items, and a bundle can save on shipping costs.
Three checks before you write
- Know your number. Work out the item's value and your real cost, including the Vinted fee and postage (see how to check what an item is worth).
- Read the listing and the photos. Do not ask a question that the description already answers.
- Look at the seller's other items. If two or three suit you, a bundle request saves the seller a parcel and you the postage.
Templates for questions
Replace the capital letters with your own details. Send these before you offer when something is unclear.
- "Hi, is the ITEM still available? Could you tell me the size on the label, and whether it has any marks that are not in the photos? Thanks!"
- "Hi, could you add a photo of the label, or of the underside? I'd like to be sure before I buy."
Haggling tips that fit Vinted's rules
- Start from your number, not the discount. The 40% limit is a ceiling on what the button allows, not a target. A fair offer is based on comparable listings and your real cost.
- Give a reason. "Comparing similar listings" or "there is a small mark on the sleeve" is easier to answer than a bare number.
- Ask once, then wait. A seller can accept, reject or counter. One clear offer is better than several.
- Think in bundles. Two or three items from one seller can be worth more to them than one, and you save on postage.
- Be ready to buy. If the seller accepts, press Buy now. The item stays available to other members until you do.
Templates for offers
- "Hi, I like the ITEM. Would you accept PRICE for it? If so, I will buy it today." Only write the last sentence if you mean it.
- "Thanks for getting back to me. Comparing similar listings, I can go to PRICE for the item. If that doesn't work for you, no problem."
- "Hi, I'd like to buy this and one other item from your profile. Would you take PRICE for the two together?"
Templates for a flaw or a bundle
- "Hi, the photo of the cuff shows some wear. Would you take PRICE given that? I'm happy to buy today."
- "Hi, I'm interested in three of your items: ITEM1, ITEM2 and ITEM3. Could you make a bundle and tell me the price for all three?"
- "Thanks for the bundle price. Could you do PRICE for the three? If not, I'll take the first two."
Templates to counter, follow up and close
- Counter: "Thanks for the counter. I can meet you at PRICE, which is my limit for this one."
- Follow-up: "Hi, I wanted to check whether you had a chance to look at my offer. No rush."
- Decline politely: "No problem, thanks for considering it. I'll keep it in my favourites in case the price changes."
- Close: "Thank you! I have bought it with Buy now. Please let me know when it is on its way."
What counts as spam, and what to avoid
- Vinted's terms say private messages are for exchanging information about an item. They ban advertisements and unsolicited or mass messages sent to 5 or more members. Write each message about one item, to the seller of that item.
- Do not paste the same text to many profiles, and do not keep writing after a seller has said no.
- Do not ask to pay or chat outside Vinted. The refund policy covers purchases made with the Buy now button, and Vinted says it cannot support payments made outside its system.
- Be honest about why you are offering less. Do not invent flaws.
Each of those habits also makes a seller less likely to accept, apart from any rule.
How VTD BOT fits
VTD BOT's Plus and Pro plans include message templates for outreach, negotiation and follow-up, and 24-hour and 48-hour follow-up reminders. Its CRM tracks each seller through message sent, offer sent, offer accepted and bought. The suggested offer comes from the estimated market value and the real cost with the Vinted fee and postage.
You always send the messages yourself. VTD BOT never connects to your Vinted account and never messages sellers for you. See the features and the pricing.
A note for Australia
Vinted's Australian integrated shipping provider is Australia Post, and Vinted says shipping rates depend on the parcel's size. A bundle sent as one parcel can change the shipping total, which you see at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Can you haggle on Vinted?
Yes. Vinted's Help Centre describes a Make an offer feature that lets you offer up to 40% less than the original price. The seller can accept, reject or counter, and offers aren't binding.
How do I make an offer on Vinted?
Press Make an offer on the listing, or press Ask seller to start a conversation and make it there. Choose a price, press Offer, and if the seller accepts, press Buy now to finish the purchase.
How many offers can I send on Vinted?
Vinted's Help Centre says buyers can send up to 25 offers per day. Offers apply to the item price only, not to postage or fees.
Can I send the same message to many sellers?
Vinted's terms ban unsolicited or mass messages that are sent to 5 or more members, and say private messages are for exchanging information about an item. Write to the seller of the item you are asking about.
What should my first message to a seller say?
Name the item, ask one or two specific questions (size on the label, flaws not shown in the photos) and keep it polite. If you want to offer, say what you would pay and why. Avoid copying the same text to many sellers.
Do I need to explain a lower offer?
No rule says so, but a short reason, such as comparing similar listings or a flaw in the photos, is easier for a seller to answer than a bare number. Offers apply to the item price only.
Does VTD BOT send messages for me?
No. It offers templates and reminders, and you send every message yourself. VTD BOT never connects to your Vinted account.
