Buyer terms
Vinted fee
The mandatory fee the buyer pays at checkout on orders placed with the Buy now button. Vinted's price list says it typically combines a percentage of the item or bundle price with a fixed amount, and the exact amount is shown before you pay. Many guides still call it the Buyer Protection fee.
Read more: Vinted fees explained
Buyer Protection
The older name for the Vinted fee, which Vinted's own price list and help page no longer use as the name of the charge. What actually protects you is Vinted's refund policy, which covers orders placed with Buy now and not payments made outside Vinted.
Read more: what the refund policy covers
Buy now button
The button that starts a purchase paid through Vinted's own system. It is what keeps the refund policy in play: if you pay outside Vinted, you are not covered and Vinted cannot help. A seller who asks you to pay elsewhere is a scam warning sign.

Offer
A price you propose to the seller from the listing or the chat. It covers the item only, not postage or fees, and it is not binding: until you press Buy now, the item stays available to other members. Vinted caps how far below the original price you can offer and how many offers a buyer can send per day.

Bundle
Several listings from the same seller bought together in one order. Vinted says a bundle can save on shipping, and that standard sellers may offer a discount based on the number of items. You can buy it, ask the seller or make an offer on the bundle.

Favourites
Items you save with the heart. Vinted notifies you when a favourited item drops in price or sells. Favouriting an item does not reserve it, so other buyers can still buy it.

Saved search
A search you save in Vinted's search bar. It shows a counter of new items next time you open the bar, but it does not send a push or email alert. To be told about a new matching listing, you need an alert tool.

I have an issue (dispute)
The button you press in the conversation to report a problem with an order paid through Buy now. The order is suspended and the payment is held until the issue is resolved. The deadline starts when Vinted notifies you that the order should have been delivered, so act the same day and do not confirm the order before you have checked everything.
Read more: how to ask for a Vinted refund
Refund
Money returned to you when a report is upheld because the order was lost, damaged or significantly not as described. It goes back to the payment method you used, and offers or discounts already applied are taken into account. An item that matches its description but does not suit you is not eligible under the policy.

Lost parcel
Vinted treats a parcel as lost when tracking shows it seems lost or when the maximum delivery time has passed. You report it with I have an issue, and if Vinted confirms the loss you are refunded. If tracking says delivered but you received nothing, report it without waiting.
Read more: reporting a lost parcel
Pick-up point
A shop or locker where you collect your order with a pick-up code sent by the carrier. How long a parcel is held depends on the carrier, and a parcel that is not collected in time goes back to the seller. Vinted cannot give you a pick-up code in place of the carrier.

Vinted Go
Vinted's own delivery service, built around lockers and pick-up locations. Vinted's help says its lockers can only be used with Vinted Go shipping labels. On Vinted's US site, the provider offered through Vinted Go lets you collect at a Vinted Go Shop with a QR code or barcode.

Vinted Balance (Wallet)
Where your sales earnings and refunds sit in your account, called Vinted Balance on some sites and Vinted Wallet on vinted.com. An ID check by the payment provider can restrict you from using or withdrawing your earnings until you supply the documents.

Electronics Verification
A paid, optional check on selected phones, tablets and games consoles, chosen at checkout. The device goes to a verification centre first and is refunded if it fails. Availability differs by country: at our last check in October 2026 it was on sale in the UK but not yet in the US or Australia.

Item Verification
An optional paid authenticity check on selected designer listings, which only buyers can add. The seller sends the item to a Vinted verification hub where experts check it, and it goes back to the seller if it fails. It checks authenticity, not quality or condition, and availability differs by country.

Activation Lock
Apple's protection that ties an iPhone or iPad to its previous owner's Apple account. If the device shows a lock screen naming the owner, or asks for the previous owner's Apple account during set-up, it is still linked to them. Test the device before you confirm the order.

Seller terms
Bundle discount
A discount a standard seller can set in their profile for buyers who create a bundle from their listings, based on the number of items. Each seller decides whether to offer one. Pro sellers cannot offer bundle discounts.

Bump
A paid feature that boosts a single listing in feeds and search results for a set period or until it sells. The price depends on the item and the duration and is shown at payment. It is one of the optional seller fees in Vinted's price list, and availability can differ by site.

Showcase
A paid feature, formerly Closet Spotlight, that boosts the visibility of several of your listings. Vinted's help page says it is currently unavailable for members in the US.
Holiday mode
A setting that hides all your listings for a limited period, useful when you cannot ship sold items. It does not extend Bumps or Showcase you have already bought. On vinted.com the same feature is called vacation mode.
Pro seller (Vinted Pro)
Vinted says standard accounts cannot be used to buy or source items and resell them at a profit. In the UK, sellers who do this register as Pro sellers, and Vinted Pro is free there. Vinted Pro is not available in the US or Australia.
Read more: Pro seller rules by country
ID check
A verification the payment provider can request when a sales threshold is reached or activity looks suspicious. Until it is done, you may be restricted from using or withdrawing your earnings. A suspicious or fraudulent document is rejected and your wallet may be suspended.

Blocked account
An account can be blocked temporarily or permanently. While it is blocked you cannot use the site except to contact support, and your items are delisted. Vinted's terms ban external software tools, including bots and scraping, unless Vinted allows them.

Reselling terms
Reselling
Buying second-hand items to sell them on at a margin. On Vinted, buying to resell at a profit counts as commercial selling under Vinted's rules, and the rules for it differ by country.

Flipping
Buying an item where it is listed cheaply and reselling it, often on another platform. The word describes a method, not a status: Vinted's rules on commercial selling apply whenever you buy to resell at a profit.
Read more: the cross-platform resale playbook
Sourcing
Finding the items you plan to resell: charity shops, car boot sales, thrift stores or online listings. It is the step where your eye for a good find does the most work.
Read more: sourcing and first steps
Sold prices
What items actually sold for. Vinted does not publish them, and even the Sold label is not a price record, so a true sold-price check is not possible inside the app. The honest substitute is the range of comparable live listings.

Estimated value
VTD BOT's estimate of an item's resale value, drawn from comparable listings. With too few comparable listings, the tool shows no value rather than a wrong one. It is an estimate, not a guarantee of resale.
Read more: how VTD BOT estimates value
Asking price
The price the seller puts on the listing. It is where a negotiation starts, not a sale price, because offers can pull it down. Treat the spread of live asking prices as a range, not as a verdict.
Read more: from asking price to likely price
Comparable listings
Listings of the same kind as the item you are valuing: same brand, same model, same size where known and the same condition class. Comparing a worn item with new-with-tags listings makes it look worth more than it is.
Read more: how comparables are chosen
Net margin
The resale price minus the full cost of the purchase: item price, Vinted fee and postage. A private seller pays Vinted no commission on a sale, so the costs fall on the purchase. On a low price, fees often eat the whole gap.
Read more: working out net margin
Real cost
What a purchase really costs: the item price, the Vinted fee the buyer pays and postage. VTD BOT shows it in every alert, and postage is an estimate because the actual price depends on the carrier you pick at checkout.
Read more: the real cost of a purchase
Underpriced item
A listing priced well below comparable listings, with a net margin that survives the fees. Both conditions matter, because on a low price the fees often swallow the gap. Always check the photos, condition and authenticity before you act.

Vinted bot
Software that watches Vinted for you. There are two very different kinds: alert tools, which read public listings and notify you, and tools that act inside your account to buy automatically. Vinted's terms ban external software tools unless Vinted allows them.

Alert
A notification (push, sound or email) telling you that a new listing matches your criteria. Vinted sends none for a saved search, only for followed members and favourites. A tool like VTD BOT adds the estimated value and the real cost, and its radar checks Vinted at regular intervals, not continuously.
Read more: getting alerts for new listings
Sniper
A word that covers a rules-based alert, an automatic buying tool or a shared feed in Discord or Telegram. VTD BOT's Sniper (Pro plan) is only the first: it flags listings that meet your rules, without buying or logging in to your account. No tool can promise you will be first.
Read more: what a Vinted sniper is
Autobuy / autocop
Automatic buying: software connected to your Vinted account tries to send an offer or buy for you. It needs your login details or session, which Vinted's terms regulate. VTD BOT does not do this.
Read more: what Vinted's terms say about bots
Scraping
Automated reading of a site's pages by a program. Reading public listings is not an offence in itself, but Vinted's terms list scraping and crawling among the banned uses unless Vinted allows them. Only Vinted can say how it applies its rules to a given case.
Read more: building your own monitor
Monitor
A program that watches Vinted and posts each new listing matching a search, often into a Discord channel or a Telegram bot. The word comes from sneaker reselling. On a shared feed, every member sees the same listing at the same moment.

Seller CRM
A tracker for your dealings with sellers. VTD BOT's, included in the Plus and Pro plans, offers a pipeline from message sent to bought, plus message templates. It contacts nobody for you: you send every message yourself.
